Alluvial identification and geology
Pertaining to sediment deposited by flowing water, particularly by rivers and streams outside their normal channels during flood events. Alluvial deposits are typically poorly to moderately sorted, composed of gravel, sand, silt, and clay. Field: sedimentology.
